Beautiful castle setting, Stunning grounds for outdoor activities, Exclusive activities
The room cleanliness left much to be desired, especially with stained blinds and towels!!! The dining experience didn't live up to the high prices charged for meals!!!

explore charming landmarks and parks easily from this hotel
During our stay, we loved the beautiful grounds and the friendly staff who were always ready to help us with anything we needed, making our getaway so pleasant. Just a short walk away, we found the lovely Miniature Pony Centre, perfect for a fun afternoon, and the scenic paths of Dartmoor National Park, where we enjoyed breathtaking views during our city strolls.

Nice fireplace feature adds a cozy atmosphere to the lounge, perfect for unwinding after a day of activities. The deer park tour with knowledgeable guides stands out, enhancing the experience of the natural surroundings.
The lodge promised as 'the best' turned into an unexpected change without notice, creating unnecessary hassle for my family. Room No.21 lacked sufficient storage, forcing us to live out of suitcases, and the bathroom shelves were impractical due to steam from the kettle. Breakfast quality disappointed. items seemed reheated, lacking freshness, which didn't match the expectation for the price we paid. The bar area felt cramped given the hotel’s size, limiting comfort to socialize. Meal wait times fluctuated, affecting overall dining experience.

Had an amazing group trip with friends. We especially loved the falconry displays and the large indoor swimming pool. The activities were varied, including woodland walks and clay pigeon shooting. Great views from every angle, and the place really felt like a retreat. Perfect for unwinding and making memories together.
Unfortunately, my experience with reception was off-putting. The staff member wasn’t very attentive when I lost my room key, which made me feel a bit undervalued. A little more warmth would go a long way at such a high-end place.

Great for a luxurious family getaway
We celebrated my son's 21st here and it was just extraordinary. The staff made everything feel special from the moment we arrived, even arranged a birthday cake surprise for my son which was a great touch.
It wasn't cheap but for the experience it was all fairly reasonable.

Charming Stay with Room for Improvement
We had a delightful 5-night stay in the spacious Castle Lodge. The peaceful surroundings were perfect for our family. While the wifi struggled upstairs, the kids loved the castle vibe. For pet owners, be ready for limited dining spots. I recommend taking B roads for easier access!

Had an awesome time with friends! We loved the falconry display and enjoyed relaxing in the beautiful grounds. The large indoor pool was perfect for everyone. Make sure to check out the 4x4 off-road track and take a leisurely woodland walk. It was a fantastic getaway filled with fun activities.
Had some issues with slow service at the bar, which felt frustrating during our stay, especially when we waited a while for drinks. It was disappointing but didn’t ruin our overall experience.

The castle’s historical charm really hits you the moment you step in. you get a whiff of that classic grandeur. The suite overlooking the valley was top-notch, complete with complimentary sloe gin and nibbles, adding small, enjoyable touches to our stay.
Breakfast options didn't match the hotel's flair. At £25 per person, it felt exorbitantly priced, especially given that it wasn’t included in the room fare. the pool area left a bit to be desired. the sauna and steam room had cracked tiles and appeared quite dated, which didn’t mesh well with the castle’s opulence.

During our stay, we loved wandering to the nearby Arts & Craft Chapel just under 3 km away and discovering the stunning views at Bowerman's Nose, which was about 4 km from the hotel, making it a great spot for those who enjoy exploring local landmarks, all set in beautifully grand surroundings.
